Bilal's Poetic Interpretation of Surah Falaq (113)
Bismillah ar Rahman ar Rahim
Say Oh Allah build for me a refuge in the shelter of the dawn.
Protect me from the sleepless terrors that torture the night.
Keep me from the deep gloom that covers the eyes of the moon with dead dreams.
Save me from the secret whisperers that spit venom and curse the light.
Free me from the merchants of misery, tattooed all over with envy, agony and death.
Bilal's Poetic Interpretation of Surah Nas (114)
Bismillah ar Rahman ar Rahim
Say oh Allah take me under your wing and shelter me with a mother's tender love
Strengthen me with the power and majesty of your all-embracing love.
Possess me with the joy and exquisite madness of your ecstatic love.
Oh Allah protect me rom the dark thoughts that haunt the heart of the night
Whispering in the souls of the living and the dead.
- Rumi: Every word of praise that flows from the Faithful is fashioned by the breath of the dawn into a bird that flies up to the Garden of Paradise. (Mathnawi 3:3457)
- The “Breath of Dawn” is when morning first awakens from the dead of night and breathes Her light into the dawn of each New Day, breathing light and life as Jesus did with the bird of clay
- Surah Nas protects you at night, but protects others as well
- Dhikr drives away any dark thoughts from the heart
